Innovation in International Higher Education
Bard has long been known as an innovator and risk taker in the field of international higher education. The College’s international education programs are built upon meaningful partnerships grounded in mutuality and equality. Our groundbreaking study away programs, located in New York City and in regions undergoing rapid political and economic transformation, continue this tradition.
Institute for International Liberal Education

Institute for International Liberal Education

The Institute for International Liberal Education (IILE) and CCE work in close coordination to develop and promote international partnerships in liberal education and civil society. IILE implements exchange programs and summer language intensives through Bard Abroad, the Program in International Education, and the Bard English Summer Language Intensive.

Bard Abroad Programs

Bard Abroad Programs

Bard students have many unique study abroad options including: Bard Program, exchanges, and language intensives. A significant percentage of Bard students participate in at least one international program during their time at the College. Some spend a year, a term, or a summer studying abroad. In addition to Bard-sponsored programs, students can receive credit for participating in study abroad programs offered by other American colleges and universities.
