6:00 pm – 9:00 pm EST/GMT-5 Campus Center, Weis Cinema
The Center for Civic Engagement presents a screening of Nick Quested's fascinating 2024 documentary followed by a discussion with the director.
Focusing on the period between election night 2020 and January 6th 2021, “64 Days: the Insurrection Playbook” examines the infamous Stop the Steal project, showing for the first time how the effort to keep Donald Trump in power was a highly coordinated, professionally funded, and shockingly effective campaign that brought American democracy to the brink.
Director Nick Quested, Producer of “Restrepo,” embedded with the Proud Boys from 2020-21, documenting their rapid transformation from men’s drinking club to key catalyst in the January 6th #stopthesteal insurrection. His never-before-seen insider footage and unprecedented access to the January 6 Committee investigations (where Quested testified) provide an unblinking look at the shocking, real-time erosion of democracy in the US.
"64 DAYS is without question the single most important film I’ve directed. The erosion of democracy is a gradual process, until it isn’t. January 6 reminds us that for a democracy to be successful, it needs the honest participation of everyone."
--Nick Quested, Director
