Talk: A ‘more better’ time: The 2YK nostalgia and consumer transformation of Russia

This talk explores the global phenomenon of 2000s nostalgia through the lens of Russian society. The lecture is based on an original study of how the arts, music, fashion, and food scenes in St. Petersburg transformed as reflected in the local press. In addition to portraying the dynamics of the creative scenes of the 2000s, Dr. Kuleva will facilitate a broader discussion of the 2YK trend as a form of political imagery.
