Summer Camps
Hosting summer camps Bard College offers a variety of full-day sports camps for children including tennis, soccer, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse and baseball. Bard student-athletes are involved as staff, building a supportive learning environment as coaches and mentors.
Nourish Your Neighbor Food Drive
The Nourish Your Neighbor Food Drive is a joint effort of Bard organizers and community partners that takes place during the winter holiday season. Bard student-athletes are leaders in the campus-wide effort to contribute to this important local effort.
Hudson Valley Special Olympics
Bard College student-athletes contribute to the Special Olympics New York program every year, volunteering with local agencies, hosting a Special Olympics Day on campus, and raising money to support athletes. These efforts are guided by CCE and the Bard College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), which is composed of two student athletes from each of Bard’s 19 intercollegiate athletic programs, in addition to three student officers.
Men’s Soccer and Ramapo for Children
The Men’s Soccer team has contributed to the Ramapo for Children program over the past several years, volunteering to help Ramapo’s neurodivergent community transition to independent living. Working with their staff assistant program, these Bard student-athletes travel to Ramapo every Sunday to volunteer, serving as role models and mentors for the young people.
Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation
Bard College student-athletes have helped to raise awareness and funds for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, which helps fund support services for people affected by breast cancer in the Hudson Valley.
