Civic Ambassadors Funding Facts Vol. 9

In November of 2025, New York State awarded $7.1 million to support the construction of the ReGeneration Campus, a new environmental-education and youth-leadership center in Hudson that will serve as the future home of Kite’s Nest. Construction has officially begun, marking a major step in expanding regional access to environmental learning and community programming.

According to reporting from Chronogram and News10, the two-acre campus will include classrooms, arts and media studios, a learning kitchen, event space, and outdoor areas designed for ecological education and community gatherings. For more than a decade, Kite’s Nest has offered youth programs rooted in environmental justice, creative expression, and civic engagement — and the new campus will significantly increase its capacity.

For the Bard community, the project highlights how state and local funding can support long-term investments in youth leadership and climate education. It also opens future opportunities for collaboration, internships and community-based learning just across the river.
