The Civic Ambassadors Program seeks to help Bard students, faculty, and staff better understand and connect with their communities. Led by the Center for Civic Engagement and Election@Bard teams, as well as six talented student Ambassadors, the Civic Ambassadors organize events and informational materials under two main initiatives: Civics 101 and the Civics Collectives.
Our Initiatives
Civics 101
Getting in the Know
Civics 101 is an information campaign focused on providing up-to-date, factual information for the Bard community on how local, state, and federal government works, including ways Bardians can engage with local elected officials.
Civics Collectives
Community Working Groups
Civics Collectives are informal, inter-generational working groups consisting of faculty, staff, and students who organize events around different areas of interest. Collective events include discussion groups, book clubs, community dinners, mutual aid support, and volunteering opportunities.
