  • Bard Prison Initiative 
Bard College institutional initiatives connect the arts on and off campus through Bard's Fisher Center, Conservatory, and Division of the Arts. Bard students bring their passion to Trustee Leader Scholar projects, working from the Hudson Valley region to the global stage in theater, dance, music, and visual arts.

Arts-Centered Initiatives

  • Musical Mentorship Initiative
The Musical Mentorship Initiative (MMI) pairs Bard Conservatory student mentors with local mentees for free private music lessons. MMI’s mission is to make music education more accessible. MMI is designed to support local communities while simultaneously allowing college students to develop mentorship skills.

    Fisher Center Outreach
The Fisher Center at Bard works with the Center for Creative Education in nearby Kingston. The center provides high-quality arts programs with a special emphasis on serving low-income, minority, and at-risk children and youth. Fisher Center guest artists offer masterclasses, workshops, and free performances through the center.
  • Cuerdas Para Cali
    Cuerdas Para Cali
Cuerdas Para Cali (Strings for Cali) is a student-led Trustee Leader Scholar project. Each summer, CPC travels to Colombia to work with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Siloé, a youth orchestra based in the Siloé barrio of Cali that gives disadvantaged youth the opportunity to study music by providing them with instruments, education, and performance outlets.
