Let’s Protect Voting Rights Now and In the Future: Give to the Voter Rights Protection Fund

The right to vote is unfortunately not a given. Across the country, measures are being taken to disenfranchise voters. For nearly two decades, Election@Bard has fought discrimination against youth and other voters in Dutchess County. Recently, it won a lawsuit which, at least for now, allows for a polling site on campus in the Bertelsmann Campus Center. The judge’s ruling protects voting rights for students and ensures that people with disabilities have a safe and accessible site to cast their ballot. But it comes at a high financial cost.

Election@Bard and the Center for Civic Engagement are committed to ensuring voter suppression does not win now or in the future. The Voter Rights Protection Fund provides resources to support the efforts of the legal teams upholding the rights of students and other voters in Dutchess County. While much of the work is done on a pro bono basis, the fund supports legal fees, filing fees, special research, and other direct costs related to litigation.

Please make a gift to the Voter Rights Protection Fund through the Center for Civic Engagement.
